Adam Aaronson
Adam Aaronson is a British designer and glassblower whose career in studio glass began when he curated his family-owned gallery before he became a maker himself. After opening his first glassblowing studio in London in 1986, he developed his own techniques and established a practice spanning free-blown vessels, sculpture and commissioned installations. He now works from a studio in West Horsley, Surrey, where he also teaches glassblowing and showcases his craft through live demonstrations.

Aaronson’s work explores the relationship between surface, form, colour and light. Inspired by landscapes, water and Impressionist painting, he layers colour and texture to give his glass a distinctive, painted quality. For Porta Romana Lighting, Aaronson created the Coffee Bean Table Lamp, characterised by its blown glass base reminiscent of the shape of a coffee bean. Alongside individual pieces and private commissions, he has contributed to public artwork. For Westminster Hall, he created the New Dawn Sculpture, comprised of 168 intricately crafted glass scrolls.

"There are no templates when it comes to working with hot glass; the possibilities are endless." - Adam Aaronson
