Anglepoise Original 1227 Giant Floor Lamp

The Original 1227 Giant Floor Lamp is a playful, oversized reimagining of the 1227 table lamp, created by George Carwardine in 1935. British author Roald Dahl famously used a 1227 lamp in his Writing Hut, positioned to illuminate his desk while he worked. In 2005, Anglepoise created the first 1227 Giant Floor Lamp for an exhibition in the Roald Dahl Museum, celebrating the history between the beloved author and an iconic British light. Soon after, the tremendous lamp was made available to the public, with each piece being built to order.
