Marset Scantling S Table Lamp
Marset Scantling S Table Lamp is an adjustable table lamp by Mathias Hahn, made from a lacquered iron stem and base, a solid oak arm, and a lacquered aluminium shade. The design combines simple geometric shapes with a visible wood detail, giving the lamp a practical form with a warmer material contrast. Its name refers to a wooden strip once used as a unit of measurement, especially in shipbuilding.
The shade can be rotated and adjusted using the lamp’s ball joints and arm system, so the light can be aimed towards a book, desk, bedside table, or work surface. The oak arm gives a clear point of contrast against the painted metal shade and structure. The technical precision of the design means the lamp holds its position without exposed springs or counterweights, keeping the outline clean while still allowing useful movement.
Scantling S is plug-in, with a black fabric electrical cord and an integrated on/off switch built into the diffuser. It is available in Black or White finishes, both paired with oak detailing. Most suited to desks, bedside tables, side tables, reading corners, living rooms, home offices, hotel rooms, and interiors where a table lamp needs to provide focused, adjustable light.
