Tom Dixon Whirl LED Chandelier

The Whirl LED Chandelier is defined by its spiral shade design, which takes inspiration from the Optical Art movement. Each polycarbonate shade is made using injection blow moulding, creating a form that is both lightweight and durable. A vacuum metallisation process is then used to apply a thin layer of metal to the inside of the shade, giving Whirl its distinctive semi-metallised finish. The collection is now available in Gold, Silver and Copper.

Available in two sizes, the small chandelier features four shades, while the large version has seven and makes more of a visual impact in bigger spaces. When illuminated, the spiral pattern catches and reflects the light, creating shifting reflections that change depending on your viewpoint. The tinted shades also soften the light, making the Whirl Chandelier a good fit for dining rooms, living spaces and entrance halls. In commercial interiors, it works particularly well in open spaces such as hotel lobbies, where it can be used on its own or grouped for a stronger effect.
