Tom Dixon Whirl LED Outdoor Lamp

Created by Tom Dixon, the Whirl LED Outdoor Lamp takes its cues from the Optical Art movement, with a spiralled shade that plays with pattern, reflection and perspective. Each lamp includes a tripod base and hanging strap, so it can be positioned on the floor or suspended depending on the setting. The rechargeable design makes it easy to move between spaces, while its IP44 rating means it can be used both indoors and outdoors.

The shade is blow-moulded in Germany from lightweight polycarbonate before being vacuum metallised, applying a thin layer of metal to the inside of the form. The Whirl Outdoor Lamp is available in Silver, Gold and the new Copper finish. Once illuminated, the spiral catches and redirects the light, creating layered reflections across the shade while maintaining a soft, glare-free output. An integrated three-step dimmer allows the brightness to be adjusted depending on where and how the lamp is being used. Place it beside outdoor seating, hang it above a table, or use it indoors in bedrooms, living spaces and reading areas.
